Why Teach?

Why Teach?

"Every child deserves a champion: an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists they become the best they can possibly be." -- Rita Pierson, Educator

Teachers are leaders who inspire students to learn, but they also consistently tackle issues and challenges that are at the heart of our society - inequity, continuous learning, appropriate technology use.  Teachers explore new ways of learning, challenge one another to improve their practice, and provide leadership within their communities, states, and beyond.

Teachers find great reward in their work.  Along with the rewards of student learning, teachers point to the engaging and creative environment, job security and benefits, and opportunities to express their personality and humor as benefits to a career in teaching.

 Can you picture yourself teaching?
